‘fans of mum noir are in for a treat’: greenwich park named a ‘book to look out for in 2021’
I’m so delighted that Greenwich Park has been included in the round-ups of books to look out for this year - and it’s especially exciting to see it sitting alongside all the titles I can’t wait to read myself!
It was named in the Daily Mail as ‘one of the biggest and best titles to look out for this year’ - with Stephanie Cross noting that ‘fans of mum-noir are in for a treat’ with so many books that explore the darker side of motherhood due for release this year, including The Push by Ashley Audrain (Michael Joseph, January) and Surrogate by Susan Spindler (Virago, March). You can read the rest of their list here.
I think the term ‘mum-noir’ was first coined by the one and only Grazia in this fab piece about the emergent genre. Grazia have been amazing champions of Greenwich Park - here they have included it in their round-up of 30 of the best books of 2021.
Meanwhile, Greenwich Park was named by the i paper as one of their books of 2021: they called it ‘one of the year’s most entertaining crime novels… a sharp, witty take on class and motherhood.’ You can read the rest of their list here.
Meanwhile The Herald namechecked Greenwich Park in their own fascinating piece about the ‘mum-noir’ literary trend.
