'The highest standards of ethical investigative reporting'
As an undercover reporter, Katherine Faulkner carried out agenda-setting investigations into abuses of vulnerable people by charity call centres, mass fraud against the elderly, online grooming by Islamic State, medical malpractice and the illegal trade in personal data.
Her exposure of the practices of charity call centres won the Hugh Cudlipp Award 2015 and led to a major government inquiry and a total overhaul of fundraising laws, and she was commended by a parliamentary committee for 'the highest standards of ethical investigative reporting.' She was also nominated for the Paul Foot award (2017), Journalist of the Year (British Press Club Awards 2015), Investigation of the Year (British Journalism Awards 2015) and Young Journalist of the Year (Press Awards 2012).
Latterly Katherine has worked as a senior executive at The Times, where she was joint Head of News.
